Featured Artist: Johanna Chaw Tefanis

We're excited to shine some light on our featured member this week, Johanna Chaw Tefanis! Johanna practices Ensō art, Japanese ink-art inspired by mindfulness. She shares the history and stories behind Ensō in her Instagram feed, and we love how authentic and honest she is in her post descriptions. Johanna’s website is set to launch at the end of this month, and we can’t wait to see what she does with it!

One of the things we are loving about Johanna’s Instagram feed is how cohesive it is. Because of the subject nature of her paintings, her color palette is consistent and each image compliments the others. Johanna is also open and vulnerable in her image captions. This gives her collectors the opportunity to get to know more about her and connect with her work.

One of the more informal (but really great) parts of The Residency are accountability partners! We think you can learn so much from working with each other, and accountability partners are perfect for that. Johanna meets with her accountability group regularly, and we’re so pleased that she’s getting so much out of it! Way to go, Johanna!
