Nurturing Your Creative Voice: A Guide for Emerging Artists

When you’re in the beginning of your art career, everything you do is scary. Sharing your first piece of art on social media, writing about your art on your website, or even sending out your first newsletter to your email list can feel very raw and nerve wracking. It might even be the barrier that’s keeping you from achieving your goals of selling online in the first place.

So while you work through those initial steps in your business, we wanted to remind you of something:

Your work matters. Your creative voice matters. Don't allow anyone to undermine the importance of what you create or diminish the significance of your artistic voice. Your journey is valid, and your art has the power to resonate with others in ways you may not even realize.

And while it’s important not to let anyone else question your creativity, it’s also crucial you don’t question it either. Don’t let your imposter syndrome (the feeling that you or your work aren’t good enough, or that you don’t belong in this space) get in the way of your goals. Remember that it’s something everyone experiences, regardless of how long they’ve been creating or how successful of an artist they are.

The takeaway is that you recognize and acknowledge imposter syndrome is a universal experience and you work through it. You keep creating your beautiful art, you keep sharing it and you keep talking about it. Because eventually those feelings will pass, and you’ll be so glad you stayed true to yourself and your dreams!
